For class we were given the idea of making a shadow box where we would manipulate the foreground, middle ground, and background. It seemed interesting because you could come up with a interesting composition with just cutting paper. I had a couple ideas in mind, one stemming from the movie The Avengers. Specifically a scene where Iron Man had shot his hand beam toward Captain America’s shield and it reflected off of it to hit an enemy on the opposing side. I was thinking of putting Iron man in the foreground, Captain America in the Middle ground, and the enemy on the foreground where there would a a connecting piece of paper to act as the beam connecting the middle and foreground. The background would have been a scenic view of the city buildings. I was somewhat fixated on the idea i pre planned it profusely. But I figured it would have taken to much time to actually make so i settled on something I was still interested in. Space and Cartoons. So i chose to do Astro Boy flying through space. Astro Boy in the foreground, a satellite and alien ship in the middle ground occupying a set of opposing corners in the negative space. And in the background i cut out a panet and cut out some stars to give a space effect.
